At Devoonsounds, we believe sound deserves more than functionality alone.
By merging art, technology and sustainability, we create sound sculptures that bring a more meaningful presence into our spaces. Objects designed not only to reproduce sound, but to enrich a space through form, material, craftsmanship and atmosphere.
Sound has the power to influence how we feel, connect us to memories and bring people together. We believe the objects responsible for that experience deserve to be seen as well as heard.
THE FOUNDER
Founded by
Joerie Gennisse.
For as long as he can remember, Joerie has been fascinated by sound. From playing drums and composing electronic music to building his first speakers while studying Industrial Design Engineering at TU Delft.
What started as a personal exploration gradually became an obsession. Not with audio equipment itself, but with the way sound shapes how we feel, connect and experience a space.
Over the years, Joerie built countless prototypes, experimenting with form, acoustics and sustainable materials. He kept returning to the same question:
Why are the objects responsible for some of the most meaningful sounds in our lives so often treated as purely functional?
Devoonsounds grew from the belief that sound deserves more than functionality alone. That a speaker can be a sculptural object. A conversation piece. Something that contributes to the atmosphere and identity of a space rather than disappearing into the background.
Today, Joerie combines art, technology and sustainability to create sound sculptures that bring a more meaningful presence into our spaces and lives.
